Get the unemployed, reemployed

Specialising in recruitment for the core sectors of the engineering and construction industries, we're proud to have partnered with Cidori in our latest step to get the unemployed back into work following the Covid-19 pandemic.

With many industries suffering since the pandemic, construction is no different, and unemployment is at an all-time low, with an estimated 4.1% of the UK’s population currently out of work. Like many, the construction industry was at the forefront of job losses throughout lockdown due to many projects halting or lack of supplies available, but the industry has taken a double whammy with the effects of Brexit and EU Settlement status coming into play.

Cidori, an initiative that focuses on offering funded training and an employment solution, allows recruitment agencies and employers to piggyback on the success of their course delivery across the country whilst also finding quality, skilled candidates to fill vacancies. The partnership creates a seamless route to a career in construction at no cost to the trainee. It fulfils the need of candidates for both the employer and supporting agency.

BRS Jobs are currently recruiting candidates across several live sites in the South East that will offer job opportunities for both existing and newly skilled people a career in the construction industry.

Clayton Dempster, Director at BRS Jobs said:

“It’s been a challenging time with Covid-19 forcing many skilled workers into retirement, and with the knock-on effect of Brexit and the EU Settlement status, the industry has lost a generation of skilled workers. We feel it’s essential not only to get skilled workers back into the industry they love but to ensure those who were unfortunate to lose their careers due to the pandemic retrained and back into employment.
The British construction industry faces a significant recruitment crisis, and the partnership with Cidori means that candidates can retrain completely free of charge and be placed into fantastic roles through our expert knowledge and client base.
Cidori offers candidates free training to ease access into the industry and ensure they are fit to work by partnering with local Councils, contractors and colleges alike”.

David Murfitt, Business & Project Development at Cidori said:

“We’re delighted to be forming a new partnership with BRS Jobs in the Southeast. The resultant synergies will align our funding and training with the employment opportunity reach that BRS Jobs can offer. Our joint goal is to help increasing numbers of new candidates get enrolled, trained, ready for work and placed into sustainable well-paid employment - BRS Jobs are providing the final ingredient to what will be a successful learner career journey”.
